Please read the terms and conditions completely and carefully before commissioning me! By commissioning me, you fully understand and agree to all terms! If you didn't understand something in there, ask me about it and I can clear it up :)

Terms of Service

-When you commission me, you will receive only a digital file containing artwork. No physical goods are being exchanged. You are responsible for storing the file somewhere safe upon receiving it in the event it gets removed from the Internet or my device, in which case I may not be able to recover it for you.
-Commissions are not necessarily accepted (or completed) on a first-come-first-serve basis. If I don't select you for a commission in this round, you are welcome to try again on the next opening. Also ask me about my pinglist!
-If you wish to cancel your commission, I will refund you up to the amount of work I've done. If I happened to finish your commission before you cancel, I will not offer a refund.
-I reserve the right to decline or cancel commissions based on perceived difficulty to produce a quality piece of art. If I have accepted your commission but find myself unable to produce a quality piece faithful to the references provided, I will communicate this to you and provide a full refund.
-I reserve the right to use your commission as an example in the future unless you specifically express your opposition to me doing so.I am dead serious: NO PET/FAMILY PORTRAITS UNLESS YOU ANSWER MY RIDDLES THREE. If you genuinely want one, please also include the codeword "Kilo" somewhere in your FIRST message to me!

Commission Edits + Work Speed

-I will show you a preview sketch before moving on to finalization. After that I will provide more WIP shots when asked! Please request any changes and point out any errors at this stage, big or small!
-Once a piece is finished I may still be able to make minor edits for free, but major edits such as posing or outfit changes will carry an extra charge on a case-by-case basis.
-The more or clearer references I have, the faster I will be able to work. I do not take commissions based ONLY on written descriptions; you MUST provide a picture reference!
-Give me a week to finish your commission before asking about its status! If I have not started it at all within a month, I will offer a full refund.
-Commissions are a side hustle/hobby and could take up to but no more than one month to complete once started depending on difficulty and external (real life, incl. my job) factors, but they will most often be done much faster than that.
-If your commission must be completed by a certain date (such as a birthday or holiday), please let me know ahead of time; I reserve the right to add a small "priority fee" if the deadline is very close to the commission date.

Copyright

-I as the artist hold the copyright to the artwork which I have produced. You, as the commissioner, may: use, repost, or print the received artwork anywhere and any way you'd like non-commercially (I do not offer commissions for commercial use at this time unfortunately). However, if I do not want my art being used in a particular way anymore, please respect this decision and remove the artwork from where I have requested you to.
-You may not: claim my artwork as yours or intentionally misattribute it to someone else, use my artwork for, as, or in non-fungible tokens (NFTs) or blockchain technology, use my art commercially or for AI training, modify my work without permission, or remove watermarks/signatures. Please message me if you want to modify the piece I made for you, with specifics.
-If publicly reposting my art, please credit my profile on that platform by tagging me directly. If I do not have a profile on that platform, credit my Toyhou.se account.
-If I have designed a character for you, you may not resell it for more than what you paid until it has received three additional unique pieces of artwork attached to it. In addition, if you transfer ownership of that character to someone else, please notify me as soon as possible, lest I get confused and mistake the new owner for a thief!

Prices + Examples

All prices are in USD. I accept PayPal (through Goods and Services) and Cash App! Once I accept your commission request, I require upfront payment (if your order is under $20; otherwise I can allow installments) before I start working. Before sending payment check to see if any discounts are active on the front page!

Style Notes and What To Expect:
-Fully rendered pieces will be shaded and lit with colored lines (except for the main outline). They come with both a simple background and a transparent background. I can add a sticker-like outline to the character if desired, free of charge.
-Cel imitation pieces are always flat colored or minimally shaded in one or two areas only. Choose between smooth inked lines or rough pencil lines (difference can be seen in the "Extra Examples" tab). Character's eye color is made only a simple black pupil unless you specifically ask for the iris to be visible. Backgrounds will resemble paper with texture and a faint drop shadow will be present behind the character; transparent also given for free. A cartoon "wow"-type background with VHS effects (again see extra examples page) can be added for an additional dollar. This style works best with simpler designs!
-Cel pagedolls are smooth-lined, single-character, fullbody, and have transparent backgrounds only, but otherwise follow the same guides as a regular cel imitation piece.
-Midcentury/Retro Toon pieces are, by default, based on Hanna-Barbera's style and are flat colored/minimally shaded only, though I can try to imitate another cartoon style from the 50s-70s by request (subject to denial). This style works best with simpler designs- more complex characters WILL be simplified. Backgrounds will be relatively simple and "retro", though you can make it a title card (for +$1 USD, add VHS/TV effects (you get multiple versions) for another +$1, or get both (for +$2 to your total). I'm a bit picky about which characters I'd like to draw in this style, so inquiries are for QUOTES- these start at $12 USD, with perceived character complexities and desired effects being the modifiers that add to the total cost.A link to more art examples is available on the previous page!
